Yu meet Akira when they were both battling ice-cold bats. They teamed up and found out about each other's ability to use Personas....and wildcard ability.
Learning that he had masterful curry cooking skills, Yu challenged him to a battle and used the opportunity to learn more about him. However, Akira's skills and recipe were far more impressive than his, and he had to conceded defeat.
He feels like he can trust the other, despite the fact that they haven't met for a long time. There's a lot of burning questions about him he will hopefully find out about eventually...but he will trust a fellow guest of the Velvet Room without question. LOGS: FAVORITE FOOD(S):

Yu meet Futaba upon his arrival and they quickly learned about each other's respective teams. However Futaba seems to dislike Yu's methods and members of his team (like a certain detective). Due to this, they don't get along.
It doesn't help that, having glimpsed into Yu's past, she saw the Investigation Team's darkest point - almost throwing a man into a TV as revenge for Nanako's death. Perhaps they might be able to get to tolerate each other one day, but that road will be paved with thorns the entire way. LOGS:
