Ten layers, to be exact, with different patterns and colours. The actual gift is made up of several things. One, it's an old lamp that's been put together with a new foot made of a stone rabbit, the lamp shade is made of pages from an old book to make it interesting. There's also a bunch of necklaces and bracelets made out of sea glass in beautiful colours. There's also a sweater with pieces of fabric sown on clumsily but with care to make a fun pattern on it. If you squint and have imagination, it's supposed to be a dragon. It's been repaired in a few places with brightly coloured yarn to make it even more fun. Clearly the gift giver is big on using second hand things.
